Reinck Bell is an American musician, programmer, and teacher based in Tokyo. He has led more than a decade of research where electronic music and artificial intelligence talk to each other. The so-called “algoraves”, AI-assisted parties, have been promoting a new system built on live-coding and the interaction between the public and machine-learning for several years.
He is a graduate of the doctoral program at Tama Art University in Tokyo, Japan. His current research interests are live coding, improvisation, and algorithmic composition using open source software. He is the author of Conductive, a library for live coding in the Haskell programming language.
